I brought beef bone less about 4 pounds and beef tongue from this place on Friday Dec-19-2025, and it was stale meat both the tongue and boneless beef meat turned green after I boiled it, looks like they are selling expired meat, be careful buying meat from FOOD Depot supermarket they are making profit on our expense I paid $25 for the beef tongue and it turned green after boiling it. Looks like they are playing around with our health and selling expired and stale meat that could make us sick.. 😨😱😨
Deleted my previous 5-star review, my review is now 1 star. It’s taken me a while to write this. Some time ago I was at this store, where I once shopped multiple times a week. I wanted to support a small business instead of the Food Basics nearby. As I was leaving, the security guard blocked me from leaving and rudely demanded to see in my bag. I showed him what I bought and he asked to see a receipt which I didn’t have ready because I was not expecting to be stopped. I was in the entrance and I couldn’t dig through my bag because I was extremely stressed and people were walking by trying to get around us. He made me walk back with him to the cash to get the cashier to verify that I had paid. They had to go find her. The customers (my neighbours, as this is a local store) were looking at me like I was a thief, it was the most embarrassing thing. After the cashier verified, the security guard then walked away without saying A WORD, not even a simple “sorry.” Imagine accusing someone of stealing and then not even saying sorry when you’re wrong. He said he checked because I walked out the “entrance,” but the “entrance” was next to the cash I paid at (where people were making 1-2 item purchases). On top of that, the customers in front of me who cashed out at that till, also all exited that way, including a man who I saw leave without issue. If they don’t want people to exit from the nearest door to that cash register, they should tell them that when they pay. But again it didn’t seem to be an issue for anyone but me, which makes me wonder if it was really about the door or something else. I used to come here 3-4 times a week, and really wanted to support them, but I have not set foot in the store since then. They will not see another dollar from me or any of my family. If you accuse someone of stealing and publicly embarrass them you owe them a big apology, not walking away without saying anything.
Garbage supermarket, I will find the media to expose you, and put it in Xiaohongshu to avoid lightning. Please don't buy things in this garbage supermarket. Every time you come to buy, you get a very bad experience. The staff's attitude is bad, and this time at 8:50, I plan to go to the supermarket to buy vegetables. It only takes 2 minutes. Outside security didn't let me in. He told me that he was off work. Why didn't he let me go shopping in 10 minutes? I called the supermarket to complain, and the employee hung up on me directly. I was ill so I asked a friend to go buy some Chinese vegetable for me from this store. She asked for baby youcai, and was given Chinese muster and charged for the price of baby youcai. I find anyone who works in a Chinese supermarket, honestly mixing up these two type of vegetables quite unbelievable.
